- 1 ½ lbs. ground beef
- 1 cup onion finely chopped
- 1 cup green bell pepper finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese for stuffing
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
Sauté onions, green peppers, and garlic until softened.
Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil.
Press half of the mixture into the pan, top with cheese, then cover with the remaining meat mixture.
Bake for 1 hour at 350°F (175°C).
Let rest for 10 minutes, slice, and serve!
